It is mounted vertically. It's been fine for years, however, from what I have read its uncommon but not unheard of for them to blow. 10 minutes this...

I recall a conversation about how the coil was mounted....vertical or horizontal....but don’t know if that referred to the MSD or some other maker. ...

My MSD coil exploded, but there are problem 10 reasons why it happened. I have a spare.
