Here is my Turnkey Minus waiting for Butch Capps to pick it up tomorrow. I hope I have not bored you fellow Unique owners over the last couple of months for posting so many photos of my build. It's just that the excitement has been tremendous and was hoping to share it with you all.
This has been an experience like no other, even though I had a Cobra before, this one I have felt so much part of the process now I can understand the excitement some of you have felt before during your build process.
Thank you Alan, Maurice and Ms Weaver for a wonderful job of meticulously assembling my dream and for great customer service. You promised to deliver and boy have you ever. You have welcome me into the Unique family and am looking forward to a long relationship as your customer.
Enjoy these last few photos, I know I am,
Juan

Juan,
I really like the way that grille looks. I'll bet a bunch of 289 people will see that and consider putting one in themselves. I know I did.

I need to take some pictures of it. In the three years I've owned it, I only have a handful of shots, mostly taken by other people and emailed to me.
Its silver.

Juan, Your car is incredible... simply incredible. I did a workup a few years ago on a Unique based 289 street car for a potential customer but he did not follow through with a purchase. If you're interested in original type English AC 289,70 spoke, center splined wire wheels, they were available through Europa Specialist Spares.

Hi Geary:
I went to the website you mentioned and found no wire wheels in it. Am I looking at the wrong site?

Juan,
It has been so much fun to watch the construction of your car that I am a little sad to see it roll out of the Weaver's shop. You have done a fantastic job of posting the progress from the ground up, and I look forward to seeing the transformation from roller to driver.
Maybe I am wrong, but in my opinion you feel so much more a part of the build of a Unique turn key minus because you have met the craftsman and toured the facility where your dream becomes reality. This is something that just doesn't happen for most people if your car is made over seas.
I can't imagine how proud you will be when you pick up your car tomorrow, and I wish you the best of luck completing your 289.
Justin
P.S.
We do expect to see chapter 20 with you sitting in the cockpit!
-
Justin,
Chapter 20 has to be drive train installation ;). Driving will have to wait a chapter or two.
Yes Juan, we want to see you shoehorn that engine into that little hood opening... no scratches [:O][xx(][B)][8D], please ;)!

Juan,
That's a "keeper" for sure. It turned out beautiful and have enjoyed following the progress. Although I'm glad I live in sunny CA, because there is nooooo way I could get into one of these cars with a top on it.
I have one question - what is Maurice so damn happy about?
