This car is an exercise in professional engineering.

It is a 1964 Shelby AC Cobra 289 FIA replica with a Paxton Supercharged SHO engine, 5 speed transmission, and Jaguar Independent rear suspension.

The Details:

Body and Chassis:

The body is hand laid fiberglass.

This is one of the early and desirable 289 FIA body style Cobra’s painted bright metallic silver. The paint is flawless! People always ask if it is an actual aluminum bodied 1964 289 FIA car.

(the vintage stickers in a few of the photos are just static cling stickers and come right off)


Engine:

This is what will set you apart from all other Cobra replicas.

The engine started out as a brand new Ford/Yamaha Super High Output (SHO) Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) 3.0 liter crate engine. This engine was never in a car before it was put in this Cobra. It was bought in a crate from a Ford Dealership.

The SHO motor is legendary. The history and specs are:

In the mid 80’s executives of the Yamaha Motor Corporation signed a contract with the Ford Motor Company to develop, produce, and supply a compact 60° DOHC V6 engine for transverse application. This engine was intended to power a mid-engine sports car, but that project (known internally as GN34) was cancelled
The SHO V6 is a high-tech and revolutionary designed engine. It has an iron block, aluminum head 24-valve DOHC engine with an innovative variable length intake manifold. Its oversquare and symmetrical design, which sported an 89 mm (3.5 in) bore and 80 mm (3.1 in) stroke, gave the high-revving engine an stock output of 220 bhp (164 kW) at 6200 rpm and 200 ft•lb of torque (271 Nm) at 4800 rpm at the flywheel, and the added luxury of being able to be used in rear-drive applications.
Redline was marked on the tachometer at 7000 rpm, and fuel cut-off occurred at 7300 rpm. The engine was capable of 8500 rpm, but it was electronically limited to 7000 rpm.
This engine was brand new and still only has 700 miles on it.

This one is far from stock as it has a custom engineered Paxton Supercharger on it. 3 weeks were spent at Paxton by the builder of this car just to get the proper impeller dialed in.

It also has hand made custom polished stainless steel headers.

This Fuel Injected Ford Super High Output (SHO) 3.0 Liter engine now produces 346 horsepower and is one of the most beautiful looking engines that you will see.

When people look under the hood of this Cobra at a car show their jaws drop because they expect to see the same old small block Ford engine.

Custom professionally made polished stainless steel headers.

This is an engineering feat in itself as this engine was designed for a front wheel drive car!

Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

Aluminum radiator.

Transmission:

Richmond/Doug Nash 5-speed.
Hydraulic clutch

Rear End:

High performance Jaguar/Salisbury Independent Rear Suspension with 9” center section and adjustable Koni coil over shock system.

3:55 gear ratio.

Anti-Sway bars

Front Suspension:

Rack and pinion steering with custom tubular A-arms with Carrera adjustable coil over shock system with Mustang spindles.

Brakes:

Stops on a dime with the Wilwood 11 inch vented 4 wheel disc brake system which has a dash adjustable front to rear bias knob.

Interior:

Leather seats, carpet, door panels.
Stewart Warner Gauges that are white in the day time a glow amber/red at night. (really cool) Simpson 4 point racing harness.
289 FIA forward facing roll bar.
Neal Pedals

This car is very light, quick and as an added bonus gets great gas mileage.

The car has a clear Indiana title.

It is titled as a 1964 Cobra.
