When working on removing rust from my headers I notice saw some daylight inside the tubes. The tubes were cracked along welds holding the tubes together.
Had 5 different cracks.

Didn't feel like pulling out the big mig welder so I used my little fluxcore wire welder. It does the job.

Cleaned up, sand blasted and a fresh coat of VHT
Will get some header wrap and wrap them this time.

I did want to mention the headers and sidepipes with the wrap have 20k miles on them.
Nice job Tony. Now I know who to go to when my pipes need some love.....
Great work, Tony! What does the wrap do to stop the cracking?
Thanks guys.
Paul,
The wrap does nothing to prevent the pipes from cracking just keep the heat down a little bit from the engine compartment. And according to the experts it is suppose to increase the flow of exhaust gasses that improves performance.
That is interesting, Tony.
Isn't it. Experts maybe salesman when i was watching videos on wrapping headers.
