An oil cooler thermostat? I've never heard of such a thing. If you restrict the flow of oil, well......... you don't want to do that!Quote:

I may be missing something here, but if you block the oil flow through the oil cooler you will be buying another motor. Either cover the oil cooler or remove it.
Never used one so I’m certainly no expert, but my understanding is the thermostat simply bypasses the cooler, directing the oil from the filter to the engine and back through the filter, unless temp reaches a preprogrammed mark, then through the cooler.
