I had a similar problem with my close ratio toploader; come to find out, using a synthetic lube (Joe Gibbs) vs. normal was the cause... I changed back to the traditional lube (valvoline 80w90) it now...
I'm running the Pond combination with Ersons... So far (with dyno pulls) no problems... (knock on wood!)
