Shims are done. The job was easier than I thought. I added 6 shims on each side. I ended up with a very slight negative camber (by my eye). I'll have an alignment guy check it later.
Thank you all. The shims are going on this weekend.
I have been driving around for several years with the rear camber out of spec - too much negative camber, as determined by my local shop back then (based on the rear alignment specs I gave them from...
Replaced my squealing clutch bearing today. I'm still very much a rookie when it comes to doing major work on my Unique. Dropping the transmission wasn't that bad, but it took me most of the day to...
Thanks for the information. I've decided to replace the clutch bearing myself this weekend. This will be my first time doing this particular replacement on the car. I'll check out the operation of...
Thanks Souzape. I'll contact Allen or Maurice at Unique because they assembled the driveline for me back in 2004. They've always been very helpful. Maybe they can tell me more about the clutch fork...
I hope all of you in the Unique family are doing well. I haven’t posted on the Forum in a while. I’ve got a problem that I need your help on. I’ve got a 351W built by SA with a RAM 11”...
Hi Dave,
I hope all is well with you. I know this advice is pretty basic, but I've been experimenting the past few years with the coolant to distilled water ratio I use in the interest of keeping...
Thanks for the useful info Mike and Bob. I suspect the boots are shot (from my leaking bleeders). Once I get the pistons out, I'll see what they look like. I will probably be contacting Terry's...
Hi Alan,
I won't be able to make it to Homecoming 2010. Please put me down for two shirts (size XL). Let me know the total cost to send them to me and I'll send you a check.
Thanks,
Dick Untch
Thanks Mike! I will try the clamp and air line approach. I'll let you know the how things turn out.
I'm wondering how I can keep this seizing problem from happening again?
My rear calipers...
I haven't posted in a while. Hope all of you in the Unique family are enjoying a great Easter Day! Now that the Chicagoland winter seems to be behind me, I decide to get my car ready for some...
I've been doing research on lifts and I've also decided on a Direct Lift Pro Park 8. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the S (standard) due to the space limitations I have with my two car garage,...
I initially put seat adjusters on both seats. After driving the car for a while I found that I preferred siting lower in the car. I'm 5'11" and I felt like I was looking over the top of the...
Thanks for the reply and advice TurnpikeBoy. Sometimes I feel like a "jerk" with all the simple questions I've asked. I appreciate forum members like you who are willing to provide us novice car...
I recently did a grease job on my 2005 DPK. In addition to all of the jerk fitting locations, I understand we're supposed to check the grease in the hub carriers. On my car there is a turned...
Allan: I can't make it to the open house this year, but maybe next year. I wish all the best to you and the rest of the Unique Motorcars family.

I've got a quick release (NASCAR-type) wheel fitting. I got it from Allan and Maurice when I bought my DPK from them. It's a billet aluminum piece. I like it. I've got the smaller 14" wheel too. ...
Count me in as well. Patrick has done a great job keeping up the site. It's been an invaluable source of information to me. I'm still a novice when it comes to automotive stuff, but I feel I've...
I'm getting set up to install a 4 post lift. I've got a 2 car garage with 10'3" of ceiling height. I'm having the garage door tracks moved up to about 2 inches from the ceiling, and installing a...
Hi Gerry,
I just talked to Maurice last week about a similar problem I've had since my car has been on the road (about 2 years). I purchased my DPK from Unique in 2005. I've tried everything I can...
What originally attracted me (a novice builder) to Unique was the solid design and construction of the frame, IRS, and the fact that the Weavers would provide me with a roller (with the driveline...
Enjoy your retirement Will. Over the past few years I've been on the Forum I've enjoyed your posts and great advice. Keep those posts coming!!
Susan and Bill are first rate! They helped solve a problem I also created (my lack of experience) a couple of summers ago. Lyle from their shop actually drove to my house in Naperville, Illinois to...
