No real advantage. But you have to be careful of your alternator rating. It can't exceed the gauge's rating.

I am planning on building a 289FIA with a 302. I would like to use a T5 with the 2.87 1st gear. However, will the shifter be located too far back in the cockpit?

Has anyone painted the footboxes off-white to replicate the original footboxes? The originals also seem to have an aluminum plate riveted vertically to reflect heat away from the footboxes.
