Knotts Berry Farm Show
Alan- are you still interested in getting some Uniques to Knotts this Spring? I know I'm interested and I believe Phil Germond is game also.

Yes, I talked to Eric from Kit Car yesterday and told him I would try to get some customers together and make a good showing, I will work on the details and get in touch with you.

Yeah, Steve - I wanna see that trailer. Seriously, about Knotts - my only issues are the dates in April (I'm planning on retiring on April 22), and coming up with an enclosed trailer. If it works out with those two issues, I'm game. [:P]

I just checked the AHA site and the dates are April 23-24 http://www.replicarclub.com/future_events.php
That may be a problem for me, but we'll see.

Phil- you're just a kid....what's this retirement stuff?? I need to enquire what the security arrangements are at Knotts for this; what do you do with the car overnight, etc. Maybe Alan knows how it works or I see that there are points of contact on the web sites.

Congratulations Phil. I think I will be retiring within the next 12 months, perhaps as late as Jan '06. More time to play at least for the first 3 months to see if I miss all the people at the work environment.

Phil - Knotts does offer overnight security at some level, although I'm not sure what all it consists of. My need for the trailer is for transport. April can be wet in central and northern CA. You know the saying - "April showers bring May flowers".
As for me being a kid, well, I married a kid so I'm going to keep her working , but don't tell her that or I'm [xx(]

Yowzzaaa. I want to go too! If Clay and Steve are coming from the East Coast, then I can get my portly butt out there too. I'll either get a trailer by then or rent one. it's only 450 miles to LA from Phoenix.
It has been my experience that security at the local hotels near the event are more than adequate to protect the cars. We cover them, deadbolt them and go have a few beers.
Phil, happy to hear that you can quit the grind. I will never be able to quit work. I am one of those that needs to work for the money. 5 kids thru college on my nickel.... I actually like the idea of working another good ten years. Hell, I'm only 82.

Phil- talk about your April showers and May flowers....we got six inches of snow here on the Mojave Desert today. Think I'll go back and re-read Revelations.
Chris- come on over. Looks like a fun event at Knotts.

The above is a link to the sponsors of the event...I assume Alan and perhaps some of the other folks in this forum have attended at some time in the past. Looks like a fairly inclusive event.
