Everything is clean and ready to go. I had to replace all three arms on the pressure plate including the facia bolts. Due to some oil on the clutch disc I am replacing it too. It was very close to failure

Hey Ralph, does the bellhousing look better with 5 coats of Candy

SPF Seats and Door Sills / Ford Emblems.

Seats are turned towards outside of car to make room for the tran tunnel. Seats are wider at top of the seat back, so turning them out also allows the top of seats to clear the door curve. Seats are a "lighter" black than the Unique seats, seat bottom are straps rather than a solid board, slightly higher seat back, and the sides curve around for lateral support. In summary, I think the Unique seats look better but I personally find these more comfortable.

They are deeper. The thigh and lateral support is very good.

I certainly was not intending to offend anyone. I was honestly just trying to pass on information, which I never viewed as a bad thing........sorry.

Mcleod was just on my radar screen because I probably need to replace my clutch set-up soon, was considering that set-up, so I was curious about what I had read. My only agenda is my own, which is to keep things as simple and as maintenance-free for me as possible. I'm not as mechanically talented as 90% of the people here.

Sure, there's a lot crap on CC, and I'm guilty of enjoying the dialog. I just knew some of the people who posted on that thread (they're not all idiots) and all of it didn't seem like BS to me, but what do I know[:I].

I'm sure it's superior set-up to what I have.........it's just not as simple to replace for me. Now, I'll just crawl back into my hole......

    NO! NO! NO! NO!

I did NOT mean you Clay! I meant the people that posted on those threads. I sent e-mails to ALOT of them asking what and how they were set up and NOT 1 could answer my questions, yet, they knew exactly how to turn on their computer and throw Mcleod under the bus. It all has to do with the set up of the pressure plate and the depth when installed.

I know the Hyd. bearing confuses and scares alot of people but I think all of it is because they have not seen one or they really don't understand the concept. When I put it back together I will take pics of the process and start a new thread for those building a car or thinking about changing over and show step by step how to do it.

How about this for a company: Mcleod recieved my unit at 10:03 yesterday, called me at 10:30 to verify everything, called at 11:20 telling me it was totally rebuilt and updated ,shipped back out on UPS next day red, I should have it today before noon.

That's good service, Brent. You're right about the unit seeming a little mysterious.

Nobody on C.C. ever has anything good to say about anything. They are mostly jerks with alot of money and no damn sense. Some of them will ask how to run the valves or how to set timing and the next thread they are telling someone how to do it. Idiot to expert in ten minutes.
LOL. That certainly do happen! Take it from an expert

A little more back on topic. The fix sure is looking nice! I have bellhousing envy. Personally, I use the slave cylinder setup mainly because of ease of service. Problem is, I am always servicing it! Darn slaves seem to fail once a year and leak consistantly. I don't know who designed the Wilwood slave but using basically an o-ring for piston seals is not a good idea. Born leaker. When the day comes to tear it down, I am strongly considering the hydraulic bearing.

Kelly, I may have missed it but will your new monster be back together in time for homecoming?

OK, here is an update. Got the short block and heads back from the machine shop today but not without surprises and headaches[xx(] turns out that the Scat crank is cleveland all the way except for the snout which is windsor and requires the spacer behind the crank gear[xx(][xx(] Got on the phone at 3:00pm cst to Southern Automotive and explained the dilemma and they came thru again[^] Said that they had the part on the shelve and I told them to ship it UPS red so I will have it Saturday by 10 am. Have no clue what it will cost, didn't ask[xx(]

I have way bigger issues right now than with the pics. Went to pick up the engine from my machinist Friday only to find out that the Scat "cleveland" crank has a windsor front snout on it and needs the spacer gear behind the crank timing gear Got on the phone and called Southern Automotive, they had one and would overnight it to me 2pm Saturday finally got hold of the UPS driver, he aint got no spacer gear for me Now I'm seeing RED Finally calmed down enough to think. Took my old timing gear off of the other engine and went to a local machinist and had a spacer turned down.

So about 4pm yesterday I finally got to degree in the cam and start putting the engine together
Got everything pretty much together and went to put the brand new $350 ATI balancer on and it is the wrong one Not even close! I have no clue what it goes to and I had called ATI and told them what I was doing just to make sure I ordered the correct one

I guess that I will put the Fluiddampener on that I had on the other engine until I resolve this issue[V]

Maybe we will be running this afternoon.....

OK ... I got the Homecoming curse today

Out driving today and on the way home heard a dreaded loud "thunk" in the rear end. Immediately put it into neutral and pulled over. Everything running fine, but anytime I tried to put it in gear I got the loud thunking again. I'm guessing pinion gear. SH*T!!!
