Well crap. My engine is knocking. Its does so when you idle up on the gas. Oil has always been fine and oil pressure is between 40 and 45. Fist 10 months of engine, the presure stayed around 50 to 55 lbs.Is 40 to 45 ok? i pulled the dip stick and found real small metal shavings in the oil. The engine is a fe 428. WHATS DOES THIS SOUND LIKE . HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP PAT

I just had a buick 3800 eng. lockup in park ave,257,000 miles. Pulled front cover timing stufff was ok, plan to pull oil pan for further diagnosis. Good luck, Will-alabama

    Yep. What Alan said!

Good thing about a Unique...no crossmember, you can pull the pan in about 15 minutes.

You caught it quick. best of luck!

[V]Wow, metal shavings on the dip stick oil?? If it's magnetic uhoh. 40 oil pressure at idle is fine; was that at idle ?

I sure wish you luck on the repair.

A deep knock, I medium double knock, a double 'slap'? Have a stethoscope?

Sorry to hear about this. Mine overheated pretty good the other day... still holding my breath.
