Nicely done flames. Who did them? Add one of those flame thrower kits to the side pipes to complete the package!

I have to say I am not a fan.

My painter had a couple of cars in his shop

including a truck that had the flames. Seems to be too much "look at me" than at the car - just my 2 cents.

    Alan,

Great looking flames, but I think there out of place on a cobra.

The car belongs to Tom Melia, one of the guys that drive their cars from CT to our open house every year. His buddy Mike built a new car last winter so Tom decided he wanted a new one. He was looking to do something a little different so he decided to go street rod. He is using a polished out FE from Southern Automotive, the interior will have red leather seats and door panels with black carpets and dash, it will also have chrome Dayton knock off wire wheels. He has his 289 FIA for sale and hopes to move it before we are finished with his new one.

Don't let Wendy see that ... she wants to do the whole front of the Cobra in "hot rod" flames.

    Alan,
I think it's pretty cool - I wouldn't do it on mine either unless maybe it was a removable...

At least I softened up Bill when it comes to putting a polished motor in a Cobra. Are you sure that lower alternator position will fit? It wouldn't fit in my car. I had to move it to the upper position to keep it from hitting the frame.

    I think it looks good!
Not to much to take away the body lines.
The Engine is definately Hot Rod. looks good.

Wire wheel are going to look great with the black paint.

Not something I would do to my own car but really well done. It does not have the image of a hot rod but something "nastier". Maybe the character of a vintage fighter plane. I really like the look.
