Radiator Fitment - 289FIA
Had to replace the Griffin Aluminum radiator in my 289FIA. There is an "L" bracket at the top of the radiator that fits over a bolt that runs through the fiberglass. When mounted through here, the bottom of the radiator itself is about 3/4" from the frame rail , i.e., the top bracket is really the only place where the radiator is supported. Is this normal? When completely filled with anti-freeze, will the weight/vibration eventually cause problems with the fiberglass at the top where the bolt passes through?

The radiator should be supported from the bottom. The stove bolt on top is to help keep the radiator in a verticle postion, but not to support the weight. This is the only photo I could find that illustrates this - the radiator sits, and is, support by the brackets on the bottom.

That's what I was afraid of, apparently the new one I just recieved must be a tad bit shorter than the one that came out, or either the "L" bracket was too short.

Phil,
When are you going to remove those stickers from your sway bar[B)].
Like Clay, I could not resist any longer.
