    Veteran's Day

I'm a little late posting this, however, to all you veteran's... Happy Veteran's Day... and THANKS!!!

The reason I'm late posting is that final after, 35 years, I didn't have to work on Veteran's Day and I could attended a ceremony. The high school I attended dedicated a memorial to the fallen graduates who served in Viet Nam. I had some good friends who didn't come home, and this was my first opportunity to attend. A very moving experience.... saw some guys I hadn't seen in almost forty years.

So all you vet's - walk proud (we earned it)!!!

    Will,

Pjil... Phil..... I've been called worse Been to the Wall a few times myself, a very moving experience. There is a memorial in Sacramento with the names engraved, as well. Pretty tough stuff. When I left Viet Nam I rotated out of the Army at Ft Lewis, WA. One day I was in Viet Nam and within 48 hours (or so), I was on a commercial flight headed to Sacramento oufitted in dress green's sitting next to a business man who read the paper and didn't say a word to me the entire flight (probably didn't know what to say).

    Thanks for the msg buddy.

Phil--Taking all my metal stuff, insignia , rank, to super trooper fix in shadow box and give my son,s for christmas.I came out of saigon in fatigues, four or five days old, to clark, phillipines, to yokota, japan, took a bath and clean clothes, up in a c-141 about 20 minutes , air con. went off, lights out, air force driver came on said had to go back have three ngenerators and two just went out, running instruments and engines on the remaining one.Day later we climbed on the same plane and mustered out at oakland, another day and night later. Most lonely, awkward feeling inmy life, out of a shooting war only days ago and now I am free to go, all among strangers, and hecklers cursed us . Some experience at the grand old age of 21.I still have awful dreams, and that has been a long time ago now.Will-alabama
