    taxachusetts

here is a heads up for anyone trying to register in a sales tax state. in massachusetts you normally pay 5% sales tax when you register and title but you can not register until the state police assign a vehicle I.D number. you can't get that I.D. # (which is a project in itself) until the car is finished and can be driven and inspected. well, if you bought the kit a year earlier and got a "certificate of origin" from the manufacturer dated a year ago, the state automatically charges penalty and interest for delaying payment of sales tax back to the date of purchase. it amounted to about $400. dollars in my case.

    What a rip.

Every time I read something about Taxachusetts or California, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to be in the Southeast. When I registered the Cobra in SC, I discovered that the state sales tax is actually CAPPED at $300. They don't even know what a vehicle inspection IS around here.

I've read about the hassles of acquiring a Taxchusetts ID number. It's no accomplishment.

    Rick,

I was thinking the same thing, however, being from the left coast I didn't dare put it in writing
