Smile Chapter 14.8 - The Body Shop - IT'S DONE!

Just a few words to describe my feelings today...Good things come to those who wait.

In person this thing looks waaaay better than in the pictures.

    Next step:

BTW, it doesn't look real shiny because it's not buffed yet, this is just clear coat!

Very, very nice Brian.... you are right (about good things come to those who wait). It's hard to tell from the photo, that blue almost looks like it could be an indigo (?) The most unnerving aspect for me after having the car painted was drilling that first hole in the body for badges, wiring, etc.

    Looooking good!

    Phil,
Very astute...The blue is a Indigo pearl. All colors are from the 2004-2005 VW lineup.

I've always liked that color combination on a Cobra, can't wait to see it finished.

Very nice! I remember the first time I drilled a hole in my freshly-painted car. I bet I measured for that badge a dozen times.

    The Body Shop

Blue with red nose stripe looks really good! I cut the mounting pins of the badges, ground the backs smooth and then used 3M two sided tape for mounting. It worked great and badges have been on for more than 5-year now.

    Brian,

I am sure you are back in the "build mode".

more pretty car, wish I had glued badges on--heck --bet I measured fifty times before cutting holes, done some praying, stickyback stuff would have been the thing.Drilling will give you ulcers. Homecoming ,good time to show her off. I hope to have a new engine tied down by next spring under the hood.Will-alabama
