No. You should of ask for a 64 T-Bird 6.4 liter 390cu in.

while we are on the subject, i just installed the 16" slim spal puller fan, a 160 deg Be cool stat and a 185 deg electric thermostat switch in the rad hose which brings water back into the engine. i wired them with a 12V relay to get full power independent of the two pusher fans which are on the dash toggle switch. the 402 FE seems to run between 180-190 without using the pushers at all. when weather gets cooler here i might change the stat to 180 based on what you guys say. the Becool stat is supposed to fail in the open position. the electric stat switch for fan is nice because it is automatic and i wired it to constant 12V so it runs for a while after engine is turned off. it's amazing how much air the spal puller moves compared to the 2 pushers.

    Jim,

    Good job.

I put my 185*F t-stat switch on the pipe going into the radiator. I got everything from Spal.
I also installed a manual over ride switch. I also removed my pusher fans. With the shroud I built and installed the pushers had little effect on cooling.
So far it is working good.

Facts on water temp vs pressure and mixture

A few facts that come to mind.

    1. For every lb of pressure exerted on water, the boiling point temp is raised 3 deg F, so with a 15lb cap sea level water will have a boiling temp of 257 deg. ( water only )

    2. Each percent glycol raises cylinder head temp 1 deg F. A 50/50 glycol mixture raises head temp by 45 deg compared to water alone.( under moderate load )

    3. The single most return on investment in cooling is an increase in radiator area.
