    Out of Hospital!

Well after 2 postponements I was finally able to have my left knee totally replaced on Wed. July 9th. Was released from the hospital on Sat and had my "first official" rehab today!

    OUCH!

I had a few problem areas and they had to do extensive bone modification and boy oh boy that wasn't fun!

My prognosis is that I will be out of commission for the next 6-8 weeks and then will still have a lot of swelling.

They say that most of the pain should be gone in another 2-3 months...I certainly hope so...as this ISN'T fun.

I'll try to keep up with the forum while rehabing and see what I will be missing for the rest of the summer.

    Regards to all,

    Terry -
Sorry to hear of your infirmity. I would expect that we'll hear more from you with all this recuperation time on your hands unless you've got a wife in the background making up a list for you to do in your lazin-about time. Women figure you can always keep your hands busy with something.. even if it's shredding old receipts, tax forms, electric bills from the 70's ,Etc..

    Best Regards

Most important thing now is the rehab, don't cut any corners. Get well soon.

    Geary, Phil, Alan & Tony,

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS OF SUPPORT!

I am planning on doing everything I can to expedite the healing process so that I can finally drive my car more than the 42 miles it has on it at present. Surprisingly, I've had many offers to "keep the battery charged", air up the tires, etc. from friends and especially from my son!

My knee finally gave up after years of abuse...football and baseball in High School and College, Paratrooper training in the Army and finally years of pushing in "heavy duty" clutches.

My doc said that I should be able to drive again in a couple of weeks but only an automatic at first. Seems he thinks that my Ram 11" clutch is too heavy for me to use for a while.

    Again Thanks for the thoughts.

    Warm regards,

    Terry
