    Out of Hospital!

Well after 2 postponements I was finally able to have my left knee totally replaced on Wed. July 9th. Was released from the hospital on Sat and had my "first official" rehab today!

    OUCH!

I had a few problem areas and they had to do extensive bone modification and boy oh boy that wasn't fun!

My prognosis is that I will be out of commission for the next 6-8 weeks and then will still have a lot of swelling.

They say that most of the pain should be gone in another 2-3 months...I certainly hope so...as this ISN'T fun.

I'll try to keep up with the forum while rehabing and see what I will be missing for the rest of the summer.

    Regards to all,

    Terry -
Sorry to hear of your infirmity. I would expect that we'll hear more from you with all this recuperation time on your hands unless you've got a wife in the background making up a list for you to do in your lazin-about time. Women figure you can always keep your hands busy with something.. even if it's shredding old receipts, tax forms, electric bills from the 70's ,Etc..

    Best Regards

Most important thing now is the rehab, don't cut any corners. Get well soon.

    Geary, Phil, Alan & Tony,

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS OF SUPPORT!

I am planning on doing everything I can to expedite the healing process so that I can finally drive my car more than the 42 miles it has on it at present. Surprisingly, I've had many offers to "keep the battery charged", air up the tires, etc. from friends and especially from my son!

My knee finally gave up after years of abuse...football and baseball in High School and College, Paratrooper training in the Army and finally years of pushing in "heavy duty" clutches.

My doc said that I should be able to drive again in a couple of weeks but only an automatic at first. Seems he thinks that my Ram 11" clutch is too heavy for me to use for a while.

    Again Thanks for the thoughts.

    Warm regards,

    Terry

Glad to hear you are out of the hospital, and good luck with your rehab, as Alan menioned the rehab is what determines the success level of the replacement.

It may not be good for your car to sit the 6-8 wks, if you would like I could come by and excersise it for you.

Strange...I've had a lot of offers to keep the battery charged, tires balanced, alignment checked...etc.
However, I feel that everyone wants toand I can't say I blame them!

Got the 32 staples out this afternoon and my doc x-rayed it and said all looks good...now if we can just get rid of some of this pain everything will be fine.

Take care and keep me posted on what's happening around the forum.

    Warm regards,

    Terry

Started my 3rd week of rehab on Monday. I'm making good progress and at the end of my next 5 weeks and hoping to get back into the FIA again.

Rehab is a real bear...but has to be done in order to get things back to where they were before surgery. These physical therapist are really sadist!

    Just a brief update.

    6 Million Dollar Tcolley

"Tcolley ... astronaut. A man barely alive.
Gentlemen .. We can rebuild him. We have the technology to make the world's first Bionic Man. He will be that man ...better than he was before. Better ... Sronger ... Faster

Terry -It's not my fault - Tony started it!!

Seriously we are wishing you the best.

By the way you never mentioned if your therapists are like 26 years old and really cute total foxes. Could put a differnt spin on the sadistic part. "Ah the smell of leather .... the sting of the whip".

I was a member of the Steve Austin fan club.
And never saw leather and whips on the TV show.

    Terry,
You could be in trouble if the hot female physical therapist are bionic women.

I could tell you a funny story about me as a little kid, a hospital visit and bionics.

    Ya'll are just TOO MUCH!

Yes indeed a couple of the "sadist therapist" are 26 year old foxes
However, they really seem to enjoy "torturing" elderly, aging older men!

Now if I can just get them to replace other parts with "bionics" I'd be a real happy camper!

You must not be using "AXE" body spray.

The "Brutte 33" has got to go.

Brut33 ?? - Too Modern. I bet he and Steve Austin are using vintage HAI KARATE. Or better yet Carroll Shelby PIt Stop Deodorant from 1967.

Sorry Terry, You're just fun to beat on.

Geary you must learn to take responsibility for your own actions.

I am an Old Spice man.

    Hi Karate, what's that?

I misspelled it. It should be Hai Karate. It was cologne and deodorant popular in the early 70's. It came with do it yourself karate instructions which were necessary to get away from attractive women who would molest you when you wore it. The following is a 30 second commercial.
