Could you backtrack a bit and break it down as a series of less complicated sub-steps. Some of us out here(further down the evolutionary tree) just can't grasp the complicated engineering behind it all. Maybe a bunch of accompanying ideagrams would be in order. Without pictures it's a real head scratcher for me.
