    Fishing and Super Bowl

A week or two ago I mentioned we were head down south (Baja) to do some fishing and watch the Super Bowl. It was a great trip with perfect weather - here is a one of day's catch that my son and I managed to bring in.....

Totally sweet! What are those, tarpon? And that water: if it looks that good there in the marina, I can imagine what it was like where you dropped your lines in.

    Well done.

Phil, have you ever had Wahoo? A friend of mine brought me some from a trip to Cabo. Best tasting fish I've ever had.

Never have. We go every year over Super Bowl week - wrong time of year for Wahoo. I understand they are one step above a barracuda... predator-wise.

    giant travelli

Uncle Sam used to send me a great place called Diego Garcia. The Giant Travelli were the most fun fish I have ever caught and ate really well too. I miss getting paid to go there.

I read an account of a trip to Tierra Del Fuego. A little hard to get to, but some combine it with motorcycle touring. Anyway, what you do there is wade fish in the surf for these monster trout. Saw a few pictures, they're something like 30 pounds (for a trout, that is monster) or maybe more.
