    T5 Transmission

I am planning on building a 289FIA with a 302. I would like to use a T5 with the 2.87 1st gear. However, will the shifter be located too far back in the cockpit?

    Thanks

    Bill,

To get the shifter to come out in the correct FIA position you will need to either modify the T-5 with an Chevy S-10 pickup shifter and tail housing (see ffrforum on what to use), use an external mid-shift conversion (which I make a kit for) or use a Tremec TKO 600 with the mid-shift set up instead of the stock shifter location which is what I did in my FIA roadster.

Thanks Pat. That's exactly what I was hoping for.
