JerryBP - If your still check forum, how about a response. I have the same problem you discused years ago with the clutch arm hitting the bellhousing and not disengaging the clutch. I made up a 3/8" spacer and plan to remove my toploader this week and install it. For anyone else reading, I did a web search on clutch arms and saw on one web site a real deep (or long) looking throw out bearing. Mine looks about 1/2 to 5/8 thick. Is there another longer type?
