Thumbs up Update on housing rebuild!

I was just posting in another thread, and noticed that my signature line still had Homeless, thanks to Katrina in it. So, I wanted to make an update to mention that we have been enjoying our little guest cottage for a while now, and have been working hard on the floorplan and mitigation process/planning for the house. My profile is updated.

We hope to go to engineering within the week. Once that is done we'll go to permitting, and hopefully be off and running. We are planning an elevated concrete structure that will withstand just about anything!

Sooooo future hurricanes,... give it your best shot ... (hopefully!)

In addition, 2899464 came home with us a while back, as well! Its place in the sequence was supposed to be August of '06, but ended up early 2010, but hey... better late than never. I had originally planned the DPK, but had to back off on that temporarily while in the house rebuild mode.

It is great to go out and see/sit in it (did so this evening), and when it's not too hot my son and I go out there and , while we make Brrrrrm Brrrrrm noises. It has been great fun, already!

Here is a photo of us practicing for a future Homecoming in the parking lot of the Gadsden Hampton Inn the day we fetched it from Unique.

My older son says, " This bad-boy has COOL written all over it!"

You know, I have to say that it's amazing how fast this thing goes without wheels on it!...

Paul, what engine did you decide on? Staying with the 408 or going with a 289/302?

Paul ,The smile on you're face with the boys says you're ok with it all. That car will be done in time. Good luck in the rebuild. PAT

Hey Juan how are you doing? Long time since we've heard from you. Hope all is well. I remember your enthusiasm and excitement as you built your 289, and now I understand it much better!
