Turn signal replaced but still not working

I replaced the Turn signal switch but it still not working. When I unplugged the switch the lights blinked like the switch was tuned to the hazard mode. Which I don't have. When I pluged in the new switch the lights kept blinking in the same manor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Mike - I just solved a nagging problem which plague my switch for a long time.
!st of all the ground wire not attached to the ground tab and 2nd was a stray chunk of solder which fortunately fell out while I examined it.

Umm, are you sure you dont have a separate switch under the dash for the Hazard mode?

Yet again, I feel rather foolish. I do have a hazard switch under the dash. Oh I also found an extra key that was placed there by the previous owner. Everything works great now. Thanks for all the help everybody.
