Had no time before to go to Unique.

Bummer! It would have been a good time. Have you been to the shop previously, Tony?

It ran great. Just got to get used to driving an overpower light weight 90 inch wheel base car again! Starting out with respect is always a good thing.
Just picked up some wheel alignment tools for a steal. Want to set it up to a street friendly spec.

    90 mile run yesterday.
I did align the front end on Saturday. I had put a lot of positive caster in, +5? , to make the steering very heavy at low speed and less twitchy on the track. I have to admit i believe i was way over I my thinking. Backed it up to +3? and it is a lot lighter to steer. Running -1? camber and 1/8th " total toe in.
I was pressed for time and my main concern was the caster.

I want -1/2? or less Camber and might bring the caster back to +2.5?.
Will run it for a little like this. Hopefully I can use the guys lift I got the tools from to do the fine tuning before he sells his house. He has his lift leveled up

90 miles is a nice little trip, Tony! Glad it went well. Tell us about the gizmo on the front wheel. Castor and camber? Notice any change?

That gizmo is a Fastrax caster & camber gauge. Just one tool fot the front end alignment.
Well now pictures this time but I did get to use my friend's lift. Make many things much easier.
First thing we did was adjust the ride height. Passenger side was 3/8" higher.
Brought the caster to +2.5 degrees then the camber to -.25 degree
Once those are set then toe is adjusted. This was set at 1/16" toe in total.
I need to check my Unique manual but the only thing I think is out of their spec is the caster.
I bought a shim kit from Amazon.
You adjust caster first then camber
The thing to remember is that both upper control arm bolts need to be loosened up when adjusting caster even if you are installing or removing shims under one bolt. This allows the upper control arm to move in the direction you want.
Setting camber is straight forward. Add or subtract shims to move the upper control arm in or out.

Haven't pushed it too hard. It is behaving nicely though. Want to go through the alignment once more to make sure it is good, make sure all the bolts are tight and center the steering wheel.

Adjusted the valves and set the timing. Pulled the plugs and checked and set the gaps. Put the new Powermaster starter in as well.
I also adjusted the gas pedal position out by shortening the linkage rod going to the throttle linkage. This was done to match the moving the brake and clutch pedals out because of my short legs. I am 5'10" with a 30" inseam.

Thanks Paul. If there is one bit of advice i can give that i think is worth any thing is to get your aeat position correct to the steering wheel then adjust your pedals to that position.

The Unique manual says to adjust full throttle with the pedal tovthe firewall. That doesn't fit everyone.
I welded a 5/16" nut to the gas pedal and used a bolt for the stop.

I also added longer grade 8 5/16" bolts for the brake and clutch pushrods. For the clutch pedal stop i used a bolt and a rod coupling attached to the bottom master cylinder mounting bolt.

I also cut the Wilwood little pedal pads off and installed the bigger and much more comfortable AC ones
