    Spal fan help

Finally got some of the pressing issues fixed on the orange pos, now I can move on to items that I have been wanting to do. And that is to install a puller fan.

Did a quickie search here and found some info but not everything I needed. So my question is, which fan did you all install including part number, and where did you get it?

One fan is 2.05" thick and flows about 1300 cfm
the other is 2.80" thick and flows over 2100 cfm
The thicker will not fit between the radiator and
    sway without some changes.

    Like this:

I took the front sway to a spring shop and they bent
and re-tempered it.Shortens it a little but it was
originally mounted on the outside of the front heims
and now it is on the inside of them. Worked well.

spal part # 30100400 is their slimmest 16" fan. it will be a snug fit i'm not sure if it will need sway bar mods since my body is off right so i can't verify exact radiator position. sorry i cant find receipt for fan but do have a phone # (515 ) 245- 2464, that is either Spal or the vendor

I mounted the 1300 CFM (thinner one)last winter, and there is just is about 1/8" clearance with the unmodified sway bar.

Like the Phil Germond, I wired it to the same switch and with the pushers. With both running, I can sit at idle for extended periods on a 100 degree day and never see above 190, indicated.

As Clay said, it makes a huge difference on those hot days if you get stuck in traffic.

    Good luck!

Brent, What a great IDEA! Wish I had thought of it rather than going through the design hassle and then waiting 9 months waiting for it to get made! Brian (nolastyankee) and Don Fowler need to see your fix!! Best Idea of the year!

    Ralph,

I wish my sway bar was the diameter of the one you had made I took the cheap way out.
