Well folks, the engine is finally in. My two buddies, Rick and Sam did the honors of installing it. I mainly watched as the two masters did their stuff and it is beautiful.
Enjoy the photos.
Here the engine bay is ready for surgery.
Here Sam and Rick put the engine mount brackets on the engine.
The heart of this baby is lowered into its cavity.
It is done. Now onto the transmission and finishing touches.

Hi Rick:
The paint is shiny silver and clearcoat but I don't know the paint code. I believe it is the Unique standard silver. Maybe Alan can answer this.

Hi Justin:
The valve covers are from Branda, original style chrome valve covers.

Beautiful!!!!! As to the the other question, the silver favored by the Weavers was "Mercedes Brilliant Silver." Same as Alan laid down on my entire car when he was still painting in '98. It looks today as new.

Will, you are too kind. I wish I could take credit for the masterpiece but Rick really is the one behind it all, I just write the checks. In all seriousness this is an incredible learning experience for me. Makes me appreciate the car even more.
Hopefully the car will be ready after Rick gets back from Pigeon Forge. I really was planning on going but our daughter is getting married on the 10th.
Hope you all have fun.

Juan:
So (with the exception of the firewall), the inside of your engine compartment is painted Mercedes silver?
What a great idea. That looks awesome!
