New rear coilover help-replace standard shocks

I received my 4 coilovers from Allen this week, along with some spacers and 2 nuts.
I plan to install them this weekend and have a couple questions.
Should I take the wheels off or use them with jack to support the arm once the shocks are removed?

    This is my plan...

    1. remove bottom nuts and punch the theaded bolt through to release the bottom of the shocks
    2. loosen top plate and remove top nuts and punch theaded bolt to release top end of shock
    3. remove existing shims on right rear
    4. set adjusters on the new shocks at 1/2 point on all shocks
    5. install new shocks top first with enough spacers to clear drive half shafts and get them as vertical as possible - will I need someone to assist with aligning the arm to get the shock installed?
    6. what are the new nuts for?
    7. threads/ adjusters go bottom down
    8. adjust all shocks to get level frame to floor and then fine tune for the "right look"

what am I missing? recommended tricks?

    thanks peter

    If you need help...

    Peter,
I would have offered help sooner but have been outta town. If you haven'nt gotten 'er done and still need help, drop me an email. I took my rearend apart to get the control arms and half shafts narrowed and can help you with the whole ordeal. Should take about a half day-ish and we could do everything at my shop.
