You are correct. Go through the rear bulkhead & attach to the roll bar brace mount. If you put a harness on the passenger side, there is a mounting bracket that is welded to the frame in about the same location as the roll bar bracket, only on the passenger side.

Homewrecker,

I can go out and unwrap the car but it's sleeping so soundly and easier to just ask you -
Is the passenger shoulder bracket already welded in place or is this an add on?

Thanks for the response.

Mine is a 1997 427 & it was already welded in place. You just need to go under the car to find it & drill the hole into the trunk. The hole in the bracket is already there. I'll try to email you a picture of the bracket on a bare frame, seeing how I can't figure out how to post a picture here.

I see lots of postings on various forums about the Jag rearend and the inboard brakes.... I see some people have converted to outboard braking and wonder why... just curious... I don't plan on changing anything but curious....

I think it's for easy access to the brakes. You can change the rotors & pads easier. Also, less stress on the halfshafts, u-joints, etc.

Are rear fender stone guards necessary on a 289FIA... Most pictures I've seen don't show them with them.. Enough protection without them???

I believe this is done to allow better brake cooling when racing. The stock inboard brakes are fine for street use.

I bought a used FIA as well. I just installed a five point harness on both driver and passenger side. Mine is a 1993 and no platform exists on the passenger side so I pulled that one back thru the trunk to the main chassis. Works fine.

What is the code for numbering on the Uniques...????

What number did they start with and how do they differentiate the 427 from the 289 numbers...????
