Alan the door margins need to be adjusted and I think it will be easier to grind the doors down rather than mess with the hinges. The front margin is about 3/8" and the rear an 1/8" or less. Can I take 1/4" off the edge of the doors without causing problems? I think you can see this in the pictures. I have a scribing tool and can scribe the doors and cut them to the mark. You can see the scribe mark in the picture.
Thanks
Randy

I am also about half finished with the inside of the hood :)

Randy;
You can take that much off the door, but the body needs to be bolted to the frame to check the gap and the weight of the car should be on the suspension. Another tip is to take masking and follow your scribed mark, it will stand out better.

Thanks Poorboy. I thought you could but wanted to make sure. The body is bolted to the frame and it's sitting on jack stands under the shock mounts and dead level. Thanks for the tape tip. Sounds like you have done this or seen it done.

Don I have taken your advice and taped the scribe marks. Now it's time to grind, I'll post pictures of the results - if it works[^]

For those of you following this thread I now have perfectly margined doors. It was a piece of cake using 100 grit on a 4x4 orbital sander.
Thanks Don the tape worked great. :D

Now it's on to the hood to finish the underside and wipe the edges. Life is indeed very good :)
