Just curious as to why you made the decision to go with an FIA model as opposed to the 427's. I appears that Georgia is heavy on the 289's but that model seems to represent a definite minority in the overall count... at the recent Spring Fling in Columbus Ohio, only about 1 percent of the cars there were 289 FIA's and one of those was the raffle car.. (one Kirham, one Unique and two ERA's)
Just curious as to why you chose this model??? <img src=images/icon_speech_duh.gif border=0 width=23 height=15 alt=Insert Speech Icon: Duh!>[?]

It had to have been the original car that Unique built. I remember when I started wanting a Cobra in the early 90's. I started reading Kit Car Magazine and then Unique's deployment of the 289FIA. I settled on a 289FIA at that point. It took 12 years, but I found the color and car I wanted at the price I wanted. I think also having something different than the other people steered me that way.

I've preferred the FIA cars since the '60s. Was doing SCCA stuff in '65 and had the opportunity to ride in and drive (slowly!)one of the 289 comp cars that Bob Johnson had on hand. The 427s are great, but I like the racing heritage of the 289s.

And Al, you weren't the only Unique FIA at the Fling. [^]
