:D

I find myself participating more and more in online forums to obtain information and learn from others mistakes. I am glad to say the more I learn the more happy I am with the Unique kit. Quality, ease of assy.,and finish are second to NOBODY. I can't believe people pay 75K plus for cars that do not look as good as a well finished Unique. Have you guys experienced the same?

I second (third?) that opinion! This website is becoming a favorite of mine now that we're getting a regular following. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if I had this entire project to do over, there might be a few small things I would do different, but I absolutely would NOT change my choice of manufacturer, engine builder, or painter. I've recieved exceptional quality and value from all three.

Hey Alan, one of the sales reps from my work may be calling you guys... I think he got "the fever" during a joyride recently. [:P]

I agree with all of you. I have been to several car shows and events and look at all the cars real close. Havn't seen any other car that beats the Unique in our class of $$ spent. Have not got to look at an ERA car but I can't see where it would be any better. The Superformance guy's are always checking my car out from top to bottom, they have a nice car but not what I wanted. So I too would not have done anything any different. If I ever do another car it would be a Unique FIA in the theme of the original Dragon Snake.

Well. I would sell my car in a NewYorkMinute....just so I could do it again.:D

Close friend has a Superformance; damn nice car, but all three of his kids think the lines of the Unique make the SPF look lumpy. Hee, hee, hee!

Don't, on the other hand, discount ERA's cars. Done right they are really awesome. But - be prepared to spend about $25-30K more to get there. Worth it? - not in my ledger.

Want the very, very best possible, get a Kirkham; even better than the originals. Yeah, I know, HERETIC!

Bottom line is that the Unique is just that. Lines, looks, engineering, nobody but NOBODY beats the Boys From 'Bama! Said it several times before and saying it still - Thank you Weaver Clan, you're just the BEST!

We are also in the process of experiencing it
We have looked at and drove several other cars and came to the decision that Unique was what we wanted for a street car, and we have no regrets.

I remember looking at old Kit Car Illustrated magazines and Unique was always one of the common "cover models". Lots of Contemporary cars also. They were exceptional cars, but went out of business for whatever reason.

The more cars I looked at, I always found myself back looking at the Unique 289FIA, and just happened to buy one.

My Unique has been on the road now for over ten years. In that time I have had the opportunity to compare my car with most of the other makes out there. I am always very happy to drive mine home, in fact I can honestly say that I have never see a Cobra that I would rather have.
Although those big thick seats in the SPF sure feel comfortable.

I've had the opportunity to compare my 427 SC against quite a few finished and unfished Cobra's.....Johnex, Trojero (from the UK),Everett Morrision at their old place in Tampa,(Factory Five...should be banned for safety reasons,), Contempary, and that mob from North or South Dakota, and also a Butler.
Not one of them could hold a torch to the Unique....the Butler was ok.

Yes I agree the ERA's are a pretty solid bit of machinery....put mine in a line up of them at a SHELBY meet in the parking lot of Fords head office in Detroit....the Unique got a lot of interest due to the Aluminum finish..........But as you say.....you have to throw a whole lot more coin at an ERA.

UNIQUE WINS in my book.

Initial research , in 1991 took me 6 months and $300 in phone calls, catalogues, and assembly manuals before I selected the Unique.(No Internet Availiable at that time.)

I agree will all the responses on this thread... <img src=images/icon_speech_wow.gif border=0 width=23 height=15 alt=Insert Speech Icon: Wow!>
If I didn't have a Unique 289 it would be an ERA 289...
Dollar for dollar you can not beat the Unique...
If the Superformance was the same money I'd still go with the 289 Unique...I love the fact that if fifteen cars show up for a cruise-in,
I'll have the only 289FIA. I love the way it stands and the small block...
I have no doubt that if it came time to sell this car I'd have no trouble getting what I paid for it... :)
