Does someone make a longer pivot thats bolts to the bellhousing ?
the one we got is too short (by about 1 inch) in our lakewood bellhousing and the arm hits the bellhousing before the throw-out bearing reaches the clutch, or will we just have to make a spacer ?

Jerry,
Sounds like you may have the wrong throw-out bearing. We have made spacers to go under the pivot but not that thick.

The is the kit from the Weavers with Hydralic cylendar, the pivot sets so close the back of the Lakewood bellhousing that there is almost no travel.

None of it came from Southern Automotive (I dont even know who they are)
The Bellhousing is a Lakewood, Clutch, pressure plate, disk & pilot & throwout berrings are Spec,
the shortened Clutch arm and pivot came from weavers.
Found this picture and article in racing early fords.
Do to the longer input shaft of the T3550 trans and the deeper lakewood belhousing you will need to ad a 1in spacer block under the fulcurm .

Jerry, it sounds like you have the bracket bolted in wrong, the pivot side should be towards the center of the car. Try this and let us know if it works.

Talked to Lakewood and the Bellhousing we have requires a 1" spacer under the pivot as it is 1" deeper and does not require the spacer between the bellhousing and the Trenic 3550 transmition. Thanks

check out the transmission section at the following web site: johnsmustangs.com. They specialize in Ford tranny swaps! They might have what you need if not they can make it.

We can make the part, just wondered if any of you-all had run-into this problem before.
