Glenn, I'll let you know when I figure it out. I'm hoping to put the body on the chassis this weekend (probably Sunday), at which time I'll be moving on to the oil cooler and remote lines. As for the solenoid.... still scratching my head and getting nothing but splinters [xx(]

I mounted my solinoid on the inboard frame rail under the passengers side footbox. It was just a short run over to the starter.

Hi Glenn,

If the remote oil hookup is the same on a 406 FE as it is on a 427 SO, and you got your block adapter from Southern Automotive, then it goes something like this:

From the lower rear most AN hole on the block adapter to the front most hole on the remote oil adapter.

From the center (top most) hole on the remote oil adapter to the passenger side of the remote oil cooler.

From the driver side of the remote oil cooler to the upper center hole on the block adapter.

Mine is plumbed, but not tied down yet and at this point looks like this.

From the top looking down at the block adapter:

It is important to use some some edge protection strip where comes over the top of the radiator shroud.

Ben:
Is the inside fan attached to a rail at the top and bottom? Where did you connect your inside fan wires to and what brand of fan is it? It looks like your front fan wires are attached to the oil lines. I put mine on the back side of the fan attachment bar and used clear electrical ties. Have to check them to make sure fans don't hit them.

Hi WBofTN,
Actually, it's pretty common for summer temperatures to hit 100-110 degrees down here in north central Texas, so it's kind of hard to imagine having too much fan...

Hi Spd4me,
The inside fan is a SPAL Type VA18-AP10/C-41A and is available from Southern Automotive. Just call Louis at (770) 898-9360 and he'll know exactly what you're asking for. It attaches directly to the rear of the radiator using four thin retaining pins that pass through the radiator and then clip on the front side. None of the fans are wired yet, but wiring is the next thing on my agenda. I haven't figured out where to connect the inside fan into the wiring harness but when I do, I'll pass it along. I agree that the right way to run the front fan wiring is along the fan attachment bar and then up over the radiator shroud.

Randy,

Solenoid placement under passenger footbox.. What about exposure to elements (rain, snow).
Mine is located in the same place but I'm always looking to find someplace better????
