after spending a good portion of the day trying to bend and form a clutch line, and then finding that i didn't have the correct fittings anyway, and will have to do it again, a question arises.

is there a reason not to use steel braided flex hose for the clutch line?

probably be more expensive, but surely less difficult to fit.

i appreciate your thoughts.

:( Steel lines in a confined space can be frustrating :(

I used 12" of #3 out of the master cylinders for that very reason. I did not want to use flex all the way as it will swell a little and there is a small ammount of pressure loss in long runs. You may be fine [?]

Here are a couple of pics I had posted on another topic.

thank you. you do very nice work!

i'll discuss with the hydraulic shop monday, see what those guys think.

i've gotten the brakes hooked up, but this was with unique's pre-installed pluumbing.

You can come right off the clutch hard line to #3 AN stainless braided to the clutch slave with no problem. I think most do it that way. I have a Hyd. Throw Out Bearing and there is braided stainless made into the throw out bearing. Works fine, about 18" of it.

doug, i ran a #3 stainless flexline with aeroquip fitting the full length to the slave cylinder with no problems it cost about 60 bucks by the time it was done. later , brian
