<img src=images/icon_speech_ugh.gif border=0 width=23 height=15 alt=Insert Speech Icon: Ugh> Damn, Alan wasn't kidding [xx(] the carpet portion of this project is by far the least fun [xx(][xx(] Fitting... cutting.. re-fitting... re-cutting... re-re fitting... re-re-cutting..... spray adhesive... don't make a mistake when applying.

I'm a fairly big guy (6'3"), and intricate work in tight places AIN'T my thing. The only solace is this 3M spray adhesive (you can get a pretty good buzz doing the foot boxes if your not careful) [:P]

Phil I ended up with my knuckle on the outside of my skin and twelve stiches to hide in again. Be carful :)

Congratulations, you're almost done with the build! If you get the 3M spray adhesive on anything you don't want it, good old fashion charcoal lighter fluid will take it off like magic. The charcoal lighter fluid won’t hurt the paint, vinyl, leather or the carpet. I also found that the generic spray adhesive available from the auto parts store works as good as 3M brand and cost a lot less.

Hey Okiesnake -

Thanks for the tip on the lighter fluid. I've been pretty careful, but you know how it goes. I've been using paint thinner to get these damn balls of fur off the tips of my fingers!!!

Since your in CA there is light at the end of the tunnel (I see a drive in your immediate future). This is where my wife contributed, she understood the cuts for the corners and other areas better than me.

If the carpet starts to get the best of you just walk away for a while, I do that several times during a carpet job. Make sure to get the top corners of the trans tunnel right, that will stick out like a sore thumb if its not right.

I did take several breathers through the process, and a couple of Budweiser's as well.

I must say - I'm glad it's done! [^]

Looks good Phil. You might drive to Christmas in a Cobra.[8D]
