Though I would fire this up to keep us in-line.
If anyone is intrested in an enclosed trailer you might want to call Butch Capp's, Mid South Gear, Knoxville, TN. 1-865-5244800. He is a dealer for United Expressline out of Bristol, Indiana. Great deals on trailers. I bought a 22' enclosed Racers Special from him last year. It has aluminum cabinets, aluminum wheels, all trimmed up with diamond plate in the floor and ramp. Butch has sold enough of these that he knows where the tie downs should be and the diamond plate. Great deal and they delivered it to me in Louisville:D. Butch is also a Unique Dealer and own's two nice Cobra's so he knows a little bit about transporting them[^][^].

What constitutes a great deal? What price range are we talking?

Randy,
Buying a trailer is like buying a car, alot of options. A base 22' racers special is about $5,200. This a flat top trailer, (one piece of aluminum). If your not going with cabinets a 20' trailer is as short as you want to go. Weight distribution and balance come into play, then there are two basic width's a 8' and a 8 1/2'. Most haulers are between 20-24', and the price changes with each. Anyone intrested could have Butch send them info and pictures. I like the United Expressline because it has 3/8" plywood walls, 3/4" plywood floor, an insulated white vinyl ceiling, and the trailer is built on 16" centers, walls and floors. Exterior is .030 aluminum, with a 48" side door. Quality of product and workmanship excellent. They dont have a website but nice literature.

eliminator,

Very nice trailer! I have been looking and pricing 20' enclosed trailers and am very interested in a ball park figure on a trailer as nice as yours.

Thanks,
Kelly

Bittentoo,
Give Butch a call Monday, he will be at work, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST. All I can say is that the quotes I had were $1100 to $1600 higher on trailers that were not up to the quality of the United Expressline. There are several others that build a real nice trailer.

Nice trailer Eliminator!:D

An enclosed trailer is the only way to go to protect your investment. It is amazing how many guys will spend 6,000.00 on a paint job and buy a 25.00 car cover or haul the car on a open trailer. If you can not pull one BUY A TRUCK. I guess selling RVs for years and seeing what comes into our service department behind a wrecker :( makes me a little cautious.

Butch,
What are you hauling your trailer with? All I can say is, Has that thang got a Hemi? Ha! This is a great looking trailer, featherlite trailer this size would run somewhere around 9K. Do they build this trailer with an air dam option? Hauling this with a pickup would be quite an ordeal without one.

Eliminator,
Nice looking trailer, I came across a good deal I think? 24' very similar on the outside, paneled interior with 4 interior lights, Does not have tie downs. "I will install". Can you tell me where your tie downs are located? from front to rear. I have given down payment but I think I like yours better.

Damn man, that is NICE! I keep looking for some on eBay (not THAT nice) but I'm becoming frustrated because the enclosed designs seem to hold their value rather well (read: I'm cheap). I need to sell a couple of vehicles before I get one anyway or my wife will shoot me (I bought my F-350 tow vehicle on eBay last week as some of you CC members may have read). I may call and at least get a quote on a more bare-bones model; still a 22-footer, though. That diamond plate sure is nice...

Gasman, I pull this with a 360 cu. in. Durango with a 3:92 rear gear, tow package. I am at the bare minimum on the vehicle. Will upgrade my current P/U to a 250 Series Dodge with a Cummings HO Diesel. You din't need the Air Dam, at 65 MPH I get 12.2 MPG with the Durango and it pulls good. This company will add anything you want, I have a great set of Aluminum Cabinets built in with a counter top and other extras. A bare bone Racers Special is around $5,500.00 but it has alot of items like tie downs included. The United Expressway Trailers come on 16" centers with 3/4" plywood floors and 3/8" plywood walls and an insulated vinyl ceiling. Butch Capps can give quotes.

Master,
The tie-downs on a 24' will vary somewhat from the 22' because of the balance with the car. The tandem tire location on the trailer will also change things. Your probably going to need to put the car in the trailer to locate you tie-downs.

I have attended quite a few Cobra events and car shows, the Ford F-350's and 250's with Power Strokes are 75% of tow vehicles used. The new Dodges HO Cummings seem to be next, with Chevy DuraMax bringing up the rear.
