Gerry,

In response to you inquiry about Top Loaders, Butch Capps is an excellent choice. Butch is a personal friend of mine and my Toploader came from the DIY network show Building a Cobra. It looks like it came of the Ford Parts shelf[^]. Butch also does his magic inside the toploader. That's his Business, he owns Mid-South Gear Specialities in Knoxville, TN., they do Heavy equiptment transmissions and rear-ends, plus he does restoration work for the Muscle Car Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN. and of course the Jag rear-ends for Unique Motorcars. Good luck on your build, the forum members can give alot of advice:).

I know Butch as well and I can tell you that you will not find a better person anywhere. He has helped me with many aspects of my build and always takes my call.

My understanding is that the original shifters had a functional reverse lockout. Does anyone offer a shifter like that today?
