quote: Ben,
You don't have to change shocks to raise the rear end. You can shim the top shock mount to raise it.

Will shimming the top shock mount change the frame geometry? How do you estimate the amount that you should shim based on the current ride height versus where you want it to be? Is this procedure documented anywhere? Pictures would be most appreciated.

That's why I was thinking about just biting the bullet and getting the coil overs...

theres a plate on each side that the springs bolt to, held in place to the frame with 4 bolts. fabricate a spacer for each side. or stack some fender washers. and youll need longer bolts. later, brian.

make the spacer as thick as you want to raise the car.

That's the nice thing about the Carerra's or other adjustable shocks, easy to adjust ride height and spring rate's.

Carerra is no longer. They sold out to another company.

My understanding is the first week of February. They may still use the name for a while. Unique was told any returns needed to be done before the middle of February.

Here is what we use to raise the rear with stock shocks. Stacking washers is kind of MM.

Perhaps this is a question for Alan, but any idea on what Unique will be using as replacements units for the Carreras?
