Tony, that's such an elegant and simple solution, it's brilliant. Congratulations, I hope you sell a bunch of them.

Thank's Clay. You and me both. The first one cost a fortune. I need to sell quite a few. No volume, no profit.

Tony, you should draw plenty of interest at our Homecoming.

It's great having a new toy. Alan, I certainly plan to have it there. I hope I've sold a few by then.

Tony, had I not had a number of upcoming events that I wanted to tow my car to, I would have waited and bought one of your trailers. As I mentioned previously, I bought a used conventional enclosed hauler.

I suspect this has probably occurred to you already, but you should advertise in roadster forums other than Cobra. The restored British car set, as well as others, would also be very interested in a product like yours.

Tony, do the doors have velcro or zippers. Send us brochures and price info and we will hand them out to our customers.

Alan, no velcro. I used zippers through out. The cover is secured to the trailer frame with 1/2" steel bars that slide into the bottom seam of the fabric. The website will be loaded with photos showing every detail of the structure. I hope to have it up this week. I would also like to install a link to Unique since my car is the poster babe for the site.

Tony,
You might think about an ad on racingjunk.com also. There are 300-400 enclosed trailers on there at any given time and that site gets a ton of hits. It is a cheap ad.

Thanks Brent. Sounds like a good idea.

Tony,

What about the price?

Are these going to have a solid floor? My concern would be dust, dirt, water spray, coming up through the floor area. How does the canopy react at say 65MPH?

Eliminator, the one in the photos has a 32" center opening with 24" diamond treadplates running the length of the trailer. I wanted to have the center deck removable so one could gain access to the underside of the car. I've decided that it's simply too much extra effort to purchase the plywood, paint it, add hinges and weather strips and drill/tap fastener holes. From here on out, they will be completely decked in diamond tread plate. I've pulled it down the road at a little over 70 mph with no problem. The canopy frame is very rigid and strong. The fabric is virtually bullet proof. Because of the modular nature of the canopy frame, it can be adjusted in height, width and length to accommodate stretching or shrinkage of the fabric cover.

Tony,

How propriety is your canopy/frame assembly? In other words, can it be easily adapted to an existing open trailer? Might be a market there too.

Jim, originally I thought that would be a good approach, easier on me. Since the canopy is fabricated to a specific pattern and both the canopy anchors and frame interface tubes are fabricated into the trailer design, it would be harder than it's worth. There are a lot of issues to consider in this design concept with regards to canopy-to-trailer frame interface. Trust me, with a total price of $3,995, it ain't worth a lot of individual effort. I have to have some pretty decent volume to make a profit at that price.

Update: I received a competitive quote for one of the significant components used in my trailer construction. My website will list the price for trailer at $3,595. I am anxious to take one to an event. Come on Spring!
