I can't find the thread, but a question was asked about the diameter and depth of the rear mounted fan I'm using. The diameter is 16 inches rather than 14 inches and the depth is approximately 1.75 inches. I picked up the fan when I visited Southern Automotive on the way to pick up my deluxe pallet kit at Unique.

Ben, you're probably talking about the Spal fan. It may be the only one that will bit between the bar and radiator of a Unique.

I used two fans ILO one larger one. The center of the fan is the thickest point so by using two fans I could offset them and easily fit between the sway bar and the rad.

Ben,

Here is a link that has all the specs on the 16" SPAL slim fan. I ordered one earlier in the week.

Ben,

How about an update on your Spal fan.... specifically the method you used for mounting. Do you have enough miles on the car to determine how it is working out with the fan against the aluminum radiator and the nail/pin used for mounting?

Thanks in advance...........

Hi Phil,

I mounted mine with the standard "thru the radiator" mounting studs. I don't know about it wearing on the aluminum radiator, as I don't have that many miles on it yet. It does have to mount either above or below the anti-sway barr, as there's not enough clearance for it to fit in between. I chose above and here's a picture of the final installation. FYI, I extended the wiring and ran it along the anti-sway bar and up where I tied it into the normal switched fan power.

Here's a picture.

Thanks Ben,

Mine was a pretty easy installation last night. I loosened the mounts for the front sway bar and the fan slid right in (just like it was made for it). If I move the fan assembly so it rests on the frame by the radiator mounts and against the sway bar it is nice and snug, and I'm pretty confident it isn't going to have the opportunity to move around, which might allow the nail/pin mounts to cause a problem.
