I finally finished my new fan mount tonight and I am pleased with the way it turned out. It just seemed like the original mount was not up to par with the rest of the equipment on the car.

Hiding the wires was a bit tricky.

Just a little polish on the blades and motors as well:D

Dude....you're too much. Where did you get those mounts? I think we should all officially give up, and give the prize to Brent..... Alan, no need to have a car show competition at the Homecoming!! Now Brent, you know if you drive that thing...it's just gonna get all messed up....LOL.

Autorammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmma! Brent, it looks great, but are you planning on driving that masterpiece or putting it in shows. Please don't take offense, but I'm wondering how I'm going to maintain my modest ride half as presentable as yours appears to be [:P]

Brent,

You had better stop NOW!!!!!!!!
You keep this up and no one will want to park next to you:(
Everyone will think that you have B.O. or something:D:D:D:D

Just kidding.......
I think that one of those would look great on The Orange One[^]

Brent,

Looks good, need to get up close and personal to really check out the mounting. That's whats so nice about Homecoming you get to see everyone's car and how the builds differ from each other.

Jim, I think about 2 weeks is about what it would take Brent to get it cleaned back up after a rainy ride.

Looks to good to drive.

Brent, you and my son Greg should get together,(he has a 68 428SCJ Mustang GT) you both like to shine up things, then you have to spend more time cleaning than driving. Were not putting many shiny things on the Cobra cause we plan to drive it a lol.

Maaaaannn you guys are brutal.

Clay, I placed the original mount on a piece of poster board and traced it, I then started making changes with a pencil and a protractor to achieve the look I wanted. I wanted to stay with the oval theme of the front of the car. I then cut the pattern out of 1/4" T-6 aluminum. I used aluminum L brackets and 5/16 SS allen head bolts for the side mounts.

Jim, how much do you make a week (-: I need the money )-:

Phil, Did you order your Webers yet?

You Guy's should know he's not going to drive too far, with those Webers it will suck dust & dirt into the engine.

To suck up dust someone would need to be in front of me to kick some up......That aint going to happen:D:D:D:D:D

Yeah, but what about all those nasty bugs, sticky tar, pesky stones, and all other sources of road rash. It's nasty out there.

Very true Clay.

I am adressing that as we speak. I have not figured it out yet.

But I will

Brent,

I was down in Monterey over the weekend and stopped by Pierce Manifolds in Gilroy to talk with them http://www.hotrodwebers.com/ Man-o-man, they have some wicked setups. They were doing the final setup on a set of Webers for a 427..... had me wetting all over myself [:P]

Mike @ Pierce set up my carburators and I have spoken to Doug a couple of times as well. Other than the fact that they did not finish the assembly of two of the carbs and I blew raw fuel out of the exhaust before I figured it out, everything has gone very smooth with them.

So it was Pierce that fouled up, huh? Sorry to hear that.

Spray WD-40 on it. The bugs will wipe right off. (I've been told that trick works on paint, but I'm too chicken to try it.)

Fabrication looks slightly more involved than you described. Is that a rolled edge I see on the inside of the ovals? Sure does look like it to me... can you say "punch-press"? Do you own a metal fab shop, or something? Looks VERY nice. You should consider supplying them to the Weavers.

Keith,
I own a hole saw, sawsall, file, carbide bur, and alot of sanding cones. I have less than $20.00 in the aluminum around the oil cooler and the new fan mount. The fan motors are zinc coated and they will polish like chrome with some work. The fan blades polish very easily as well as the .030 sheet aluminum.
The edges were slightly rolled with a die grinder and sanding cones.
