Man, let me tell ya... Friday morning was a bi*ch. There's just no nice way to put it. Woke up late. No time for breakfast. Couldn't get away from the phone long enough to run downstairs to the cafeteria for a plate of eggs. At one point, my desk phone literally didn't stop ringing for an hour and a half. No joke. I couldn't find time to work on "the big important project" because of all the little fires that kept poping up. Man, what a morning.

I finally left the desk for lunch (an hour late) and found the outside temps to be in the 60's. Hmm.. I needed a break. I needed to unwind. I needed some sidepipes.

So I hopped in the F-350 (I call it the Enterprise) and flew all the way back home... ran in the house... grabbed a fast snack... pushed the car out... checked the fluids... removed three months of dust... strapped myself in and back to work I went.

Oh, what a difference.

After about nine miles of "warm-me-up-slowly-because-I-haven't-been-driven-in-3-months speed", I finally arrived at the wonderful S-curve called the Hwy 601 to I-20 entrance ramp. What a wonderful curve. I merged with, overtook, and flat-out DUSTED the I-20 traffic. Soon I was all alone on a nice straight stretch of asphault. I pulled off the cap for fear of losing it and the wind quickly blew my hair into oblivion.

"Who gives a damn," I thought, "I'll just wear the cap all afternoon." Ah yes, the afternoon... so much easier to deal with knowing that I'll be listening to the Sidepipe Orchestra on the way home.

And nobody said a thing to me about wearing a cap.

Keith,

That is so true!!!!!!!! I had a similar day on Thursday, and with the thermometer showing in the 50's for the first time in 2 months, I did the same thing. Like you, I was an entirely new person.

I was there all Friday afternoon. Just too much s**t to do at the office to get home and pick the car up. What about today? Couldn't beat it. I drove the car 30'. From my garage, to sweep the floor, to the driveway, and back into the garage. Boy, was this money well spent.

John - LOL. Yea, I've had those days. Man was Saturday nice or what? Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to drive. I was applying the first coat of maroon to the dining room.

As soon as the warm weather arrives and you get to plant your foot onto the go-fast pedal, you'll think it's money very well spent. It'll be here soon!
