Those of you who are not in California may not understand the significance of this, but today at 10:30 AM the CHP signed off on my car and issued me a VIN (along with the necessary paperwork) for the CA registration process :D:D:D Now it's off to the smog referee, which will take place on Friday or Monday, depending on the weather.

I guess we in Georgia cannot appreciate what you have to go through. The guy who registered my car (took about 15 minutes, with a bill of sale and title) was more interested in going outside to see the car than hassling me. Actually asked me whether I wanted it titled as a 1964 or a 2001. Hard choice.

supposed to be easy here in louisiana, but after 4 weeks waiting, called DMV, and heard that they are backloged, and got to celebrate fat tues holiday. will look into my title sometime soon, when they get a chance to catch up.

Phil,

Congratulations on that step. I do understand the significance of it, and it's a shame that car enthusiastics have such hard time there. I also hear that a bill is being introduced to roll-back some of the builder-friendly provisions of S.B. 100. I hope you guys can beat that down!

Phil,

The weather may be nice but the other BS you guys have to go through is really tough.

Clay, I haven't heard of any bill "lately" that threatened SB100. Is there something out there lurking I am unaware of?

Eliminator - The weather isn't good all the time, although the BS you mention is constant.

At any rate, registration process is on track and moving along as planned [^]

Phil,

I saw a post on CC that a new bill is being introduced that rolls back the "friendly" aspects for custom-built cars and requires mandatory inspections for all.

Clay,

I don't spend much time on CC, but if you come across that SB100 issue again, please give me a heads up if you don't mind.

Thanks!
