after 14 months on car and a previous 3 months on engine, the results are illustrated.

engine is an old 351W stroked to 408, edelbrock FI, edelbrock victor junior heads, roller cam & lifters.

i've enjoyed the project, not sure that i'd want to start another anytime soon.

i'm not a craftsman, and it shows the closer one gets.

Doug,
You are too critical - it looks great. You will see things no one else will (just don't point them out!)

Doug,

On the badges, mount them with silicon and use masking tape until they set. You don't have to drill anything and can adjust them so that they're perfectly straight. If you ever have to remove them, just use mono-filiament fishing line, and clean off the dry silicon.

They'll stick forever!

clay,

tell me more, that sounds like a terrific idea.

are we talking about the same thing, mounting the "meatballs" race numbers?

Doug,

Your car looks great, the color combination looks really good. We all know of little things we would like to re-do but no one else will ever know:). Sit back and enjoy.

Doug,

You have to be proud of the job you did. Excellent! As for the numbers, I wasn't sure I wanted them on a car that's basically over the top anyway - but it does make the car . . . . well, more unique. [8D] Go for it!

Dug, just remember that the originals (REAL originals) were a fair stretch from perfect. I have reason to believe yours is far better than you give yourself credit for.

And - like everybody has said, YOU BUILT IT.

Stand tall, brother.

dmiller - Great looking car! I like the stripe and numbers.

How do you like the Edelbrock FI system? I have given that some thought for the Spence car...

The fuel injection-- so far, think it is great, but haven't "dialed" it in.

don't have tags, and getting them is becoming a major hassel. so i've been scared to go anywhere. today was first day to see any normal cruise, and only for a three miles. saw a patrol car and nearly wet myself. decided i'd rather have the car in my garage than in the city lockup lot.

it started right up and idled like a showroom car. instructions are good, except for one detail that caused me a wiring SNAFU, no major problem. if i'd been thinking would not been problem. i'm sure most of the error was mine. everything is included except the coil. distributor, injectors, wiring, all sensors such as manifold pressure, water temp, etc. seems to be quality.

lots of options on how to "tune" the mixture, timing, but i don't see why one would need more than one map setting. one can have and store three program map sets with different parameters. one can set different mixtures for descrete rpm, in 1000 rpm increments, and for different manifold vacuums. i haven't attempted to do any timing modifications.

the computer is about the size of a small cigar box, i ended up mounting on passenger inside foot well, on the roof of footwell.

there is an interface to allow one to program. the interface is attached with a computer port(RS232_ ?)maybe, and is disconnected when not in use. the interface shows the "lean" and "rich" condition, real time. the mixture is "closed loop" in most operating conditions, but i think at wide open it goes to your program setting. i think.

at this time i'm glad i went this way.

i'm enjoying your dissentation of the "spence car", thank you for taking the time.

hope my response is helpful.
