View Full Version : Calendar Revisited

I was perusing the forum a little while ago and looked at Online Users, where I found that there were eight guests logged in, four of whom were looking at the calendar. I wondered what could be so interesting, so I looked at the calendar and, sadly, I found it to be completely empty. Not even Homecoming was listed.

I realize that these things are a pain in the butt to keep updated. Trust me, I've been made responsible for publishing monthly schedules of events, newsletters and duty rosters and those are truely time consuming and thankless jobs, so I'm not trying to point the finger. But the fact is that when new folks are looking at the forum, they're going to be at least partially guaging our level of activity by what they see on the calendar. My suggestion is that if we're not going to have even major events like Homecoming listed, we should consider doing away with the calendar until we decide what ought to be done with it.

My two cents.

I give up... I've been searching for the past five minutes and I still haven't found the calendar link.

There use to be a calendar on the left-hand column of the home page, but it has been gone for awhile. The "guests" listed as viewing the calendar are obviouly viewing something else... maybe the topics. Yeah, too bad the calendar isn't updated, but as was said, they can be challenging.

I couldn't find it, either, so I clicked on the "calendar" that one of the guest users was looking at and up it came. I don't have a clue how you get there from the home webpage, but obviously they do.

I agree, use it or loose it, maybe it can be made functional.

I disabled the calendar featur because it was never used. Only administrators can add calendar events. I can re-enable it if you guys want to email events to me.

I'd suggest that we try re-activating it for awhile. Our problem is that we're a Unique owners group (pun intended) and we're spread out all over the country. However, if there's something going on up in the Washington DC area and I'm going to be up there on travel, I'd like to know about it so that I could try and work it into my schedule. Same the rest of the country and maybe even California. :D Anyway, I think we should give it a try. My two cents...
