Wasn't it like two or three days ago that you decided to take off the Webers??? Man you work fast. I've been looking at a new air cleaner I bought a month ago, and haven't been able to get around to installing it yet.

Judging from the time it took you to complete this task, I'd say you have a good twenty minutes of work left to do. I figure I could have my car up there by Monday. Should I wait until Tuesday just to give you time to relax? We don't want you to be bored again.

Would you believe I have a coffee maker in the garage and I finished degree the cam at 2am on thursday?

Kelly......K.M.A

Phil, I totally agree. But I needed the $$ to put the motor back together and I can always buy them again. Now that they are making them "new" again in Spain getting them is no big deal.

You should have some sort of warning around the engine compartment before you blind someone!

Steve,

The new cam is .651 lift , 260 duration at .050 , on a 110 center , solid lifter

It should put out 300 HP or so :D
Maybe 200 at the rear wheels :D

Naw, I'm not surprised you have a coffee maker in your garage..... I wouldn't be surprised if you had a bed and a plasma sceen in there either, 'cause you have to be spending a whole lot time out there. Unless, of course, you have a tribe of elves as assistants :D:D:D Again, that mills a beauty [^]

Brent,
That sure is a beautiful mill.

Looking at the pictures reminds me of a question that I have had since homecoming...Why don't you FE guys run a PCV valve? I see that you have two valve cover breathers and one on the intake manifold. Is the intake plumbed for ventilation? I have never seen such a thing on a small block, although I haven't looked for it specifically.

Brent you should have posted a warning so I could have put on my sunglasses before viewing! It looks outstanding!

Brent

Yankee,

On the rear of the FE intake you can mill it to accept the original Ford breather basket. You will notice the tall aluminum stack on the rear of my intake just behind the carb. The discussion about a pcv valve is kind of like the discussion about thermostadt or no thermostadt. A pcv valve will suck oil and oil fumes into the intake and build deposits on the top of the pistons and the valves. There are also strong points as to why you would run one. I vent both valve covers and the lifter valley as well.

Brent, The new motor is spectacular! There was never a doubt in my mind it would be in the car and running before Monday. You take the prize buddy. Let me guess, you finished it on a lunch break from work. On my list of things to do is re-routing the master cylinder lines and I don't have a good understanding of how they exit the foot box. I see they go into the top, where do they exit and is it possible to photograph?

Steve,

e-mail me a fax # and I will send you a diagram of the routing and fittings. I can take some pics of what is visible, however, the carpet does cover most of them. It is actually VERY easy to do.

Thanks Steve, Been working on the house we are planning on building our retirement home/garage :Dand work is hugely busy at this time of year. I did get the overrun problem solved the timing was way out of wack since my cam has 34 degrees at full advance (3200-3600 rpm), 24 mechanical, I had Gayle rev the engine to 3500 rpm and I set the timing at 34 degrees. At idle, 700 rpm, it has about 9-10 degrees. Finally we got a break in the weather took it out last night wonderful!!

Got to run see ya,

Ralph

Beautiful Turkey pan Brent. Now I'm not sure that I'll put mine on. That is just too too much the Webers were great, and different, but this is outstanding. Are you going to put welting around the edge or leave it as is? Only 3 days -- must be Cuban coffee!!
