Lost to Navy..............as I said before, I'm catching it in Navy's hometown. But, we're used to it, and just use college football as an excuse for a nice fall picnic, until basketball season begins. The nice thing is nobody ever really jabs us too hard, because we're expected to lose.

I live in Northern Indiana and am actually an Usher at Notre Dame football games. I have the first few rows in the student section right in front of the cheerleaders.

It is going to be another LOOOOOOOOOONG season for the fighting Irish. They looked horrible in their opening loss to BYU.

They have one of the toughest schedules in the nation and another bad team. That is not a very good combination.

Since it sounds like you guys are football fans, listen to what happened to my Uncle's High School team in Illinois this past Friday night. It is unbelievable!

He is head coach for a Kankakee team area team named Reed-Custer High School.

With just under 2 minutes to play in the game they were losing 34 to 12. They scored and had 2 successful on side kicks to tie the game and send it into overtime. Both teams continued to score in the overtime period. Guess what the final score was???

My Uncle's team won 56 to 50! Think of that...they combined scored 60 more points after there was only 1:37 left in the game! That has to be some type of record. Can you imagine the shock when the people that left early to beat the crowd read the paper the next day!

Just thought I would share that amazing story with you all. Have a great Labor Day and watch out in the south for Frances.

Scott

Your right the Irish are going to have a tough year. The coach is on the HOT seat.

That is an amazing HS Football story. I always stay until the very END[^].

We will have a HS Football Game here in a couple of weeks between two teams that puts over 35,000 in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium[:O], Trinty vs St Xavier. Truly amazing.

The Buckeyes, of course, won! 27-6. They haven't lost a home opener since the 80's!

I had pictures of my car taken with Brutus the Buckeye and the Ohio State Cheerleaders on Friday. I will try and get one up. Doesn't look to shabby for a nearly 20 year old Unique with original paint!

Who is Alabama?

If your team is not in the SEC then it is most likely only a pretender;)

Rick I just got in late last night. Not thinking clearly yet -- let me rephrase that "what TN did to itself." 5 interceptions by Auburn and not hardly a TN playler in the vicinity. I guess our Freshman QBs have a lot of flying to do....oh well there is always next week!

Alan, Oh yes I plan on being gone for that one. If we do well I can watch it the next day on the recap show. I got to remember these are QB's fresh out of high school. In a couple of years as most of the team are youngsters it "should" be an awesome team. It is just the pain of watching them mature.

They play at Auburn this year. I'm not a Auburn fan but have to admitt they look so much better this year on both sides of the ball than Ga, Ga has only looked good once this year, that was against a not so good LSU team. Steve, would you have thought Tn would have beaten Ga this weekend after being embarrased by Auburn, that is why I won't bet.

Guys, the season is still young. Auburn has a great line. I'd say the Greene will need to get his passing on track as the running game may be slowed significantly. The GA line was good against TN but the Auburn line dominated, of course 5 interceptions by Auburn of poorly thrown passes helped also. Hope I can watch it on TV. It will be a good game. I think this will be a piviotal week for both GA and TN!!

GO CARDS!
4 Major turnovers and still won. Ending Boise State's 22 game streak[:O]. Also they had won 15 straight ESPN games. Cards defense saved the NO. 1 offense in the Nation:). And the number 3 run defense gave up 300+ yards on the ground to the Louisville Backs. The No. 2 offense in the nation was held to under 300 yards total offense.
