has anyone eperimented with raising their seats up off the floor? if so how high? it seems that a higher seat would be easier on the legs. my seats have sliders and are spaced with a nut and washer to allow the seat adjuster to clear the floor. I'm thinking 2x2 square tubing, would that be too high?

Kind of depends on how tall you are. I used 3/4" aluminum square channel under the front of the seat to give it some tilt so I'm not sitting flat (like in a wagon). That really doesn't raise the seat, just provides some comfort. I am 6'3", so I didn't want the seat any higher than it all ready is - eliminates the bugs in my teeth :D Get some pieces of 3/4", 1", 1 1/2", etc stock (metal, wood... whatever), and experiment with that to find what suits you.

You can pick up the aluminum at Home Depot or most hardware stores.
